Welcome to ChatToMap. By using our service at chattomap.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ChatToMap, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

2. Description of Service

ChatToMap analyzes WhatsApp chat exports to identify activity suggestions (restaurants, trips, hikes, etc.) and displays them on an interactive map. The service includes:

  • Free preview of results (limited to 5 items)
  • Paid access to full results
  • Downloadable files (CSV, Excel, PDF, HTML map)
  • Shareable results link (valid for 1 year)

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use ChatToMap. By using our service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Chat Ownership

You must have the right to upload the chat exports you submit. This means you should be a participant in the chat, or have explicit permission from all participants.

4.2 Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Upload chats without the consent of participants
  • Use the service for illegal purposes
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code
  • Overload our systems with excessive requests
  • Resell or redistribute our service without permission

4.3 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content of the chats you upload. We are not responsible for any content within your chat exports.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Pricing

Pricing is determined after we analyze your chat and is based on processing costs. You will see the exact price before payment is required. Current pricing tiers range from $5 to $99.

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information.

5.3 Refunds

We offer refunds in the following cases:

  • Automatic refund: If we find fewer than 10 activities in your chat, you will be refunded automatically.
  • Technical issues: If our service fails to deliver your results due to technical problems on our end.
  • Discretionary: For other issues, contact us and we'll work with you to find a fair solution.

Refund requests should be made within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@chattomap.com.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

ChatToMap, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by DocSpring, Inc. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service without permission.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of your chat exports and the extracted suggestions. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

7. Data Handling

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data. Key points:

  • Your original chat file is deleted immediately after processing, and always within 1 hour after upload
  • We never store your actual messages
  • Results are available for 1 year, then deleted
  • You can request deletion at any time

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Service "As Is"

ChatToMap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • All activities in your chat will be found
  • Location detection will be 100% accurate
  • The service will meet your specific requirements

8.2 AI Limitations

Our AI-based analysis may occasionally misclassify activities or miss relevant suggestions. The results are provided for convenience and should not be relied upon for critical decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChatToMap and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChatToMap, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you upload to the service

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

You may stop using the service at any time. If you have paid for results that have not been delivered, contact us for a refund.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
